Woman Hospitalised After Brutal Weapon Attack in Crawley
Serious Head Injuries in Late-Night Assault
Police were called to Chanctonbury Way just after 10pm following reports of a woman suffering serious head injuries in a weapon-assisted assault. Paramedics rushed her to hospital for emergency treatment.
Suspect Arrested and Released on Bail
Officers quickly identified a 30-year-old man from Crawley as the suspect. He was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder but has since been released on conditional bail as the investigation continues.
Police Urge Public to Stay Calm
“We understand that incidents like these are concerning, but I’d like to reassure the public that this appears to be an isolated incident with no wider risk of harm,” said Detective James Reilly.
He also confirmed increased police patrols in the area and thanked the community for their patience.
