Ex-Met PC Caught Faking 121 Crime Reports!
Gross Misconduct Uncovered
Former PC Parvir Panesar, once part of the Crime Recording Investigation Bureau, has been slammed for serious breaches in honesty and integrity. Assistant Commissioner Barbara Gray, chairing the hearing, ruled Panesar’s actions as gross misconduct – saying he’d have been sacked without notice if still serving.
Falsified Reports Deceive Victims
Panesar resigned on 5 June 2022 after being found guilty of doctoring 121 crime reports between January and May 2021. Most lie claims said he had tried, but failed, to contact victims – when no attempt was ever made.
He also faked efforts to obtain CCTV footage and carried out checks he never did, misleading investigations and victims alike.
Police Boss Condemns Breach of Trust
Commander Kyle Gordon, head of the Crime Recording Investigation Bureau, slammed Panesar’s actions:
“Panesar was one of the first contacts victims had with the police. His role demanded care and detailed investigation to help catch criminals.
“By failing victims and falling short of our high standards, he has damaged trust in policing. There is no place in the Met for officers who wilfully neglect their duties and fail the public in this way.”
Barred from Police Work for Life
As a result, Panesar is now on the Barred List, maintained by the College of Policing. This blacklist bans him from working for any police force, police and crime commissioners, the Independent Office for Police Conduct, or His Majesty’s Inspectorate of Constabulary and Fire and Rescue Services.
