18-Year-Old Jailed for Brutal Gosport Burglaries
An 18-year-old man has been locked up for a spree of burglaries in Gosport.
Jordan Ruston Caught Red-Handed
Jordan William Ruston, from Howe Road, admitted to two break-ins on Pettycot Crescent and Gregson Close. He also pleaded guilty to handling stolen goods linked to the crimes, which took place in July and August 2017.
Ruston faced Portsmouth Crown Court on July 10 and was sentenced on August 17. He received a hefty 18-month prison term for his part in the break-ins.
Partner in Crime Gets Community Order
A 21-year-old man, charged alongside Ruston, was given a 12-month community order for his role in a burglary linked to the investigation.
Police Praise Victims and Urge Caution
“Jordan Ruston and another man were arrested after they were seen acting suspiciously on Braemar Road in early August 2017. Stolen property was also recovered,” said PC Nick Jackson, the lead investigator.
“I want to thank the victims who helped us put this case together. Burglaries can leave victims devastated, especially when cherished items are stolen. This sentence sends a strong message about the seriousness of Ruston’s crimes.”
