Brutal Rapist Caged for Over 20 Years

Mohammed Tarik, 21, was slammed with a 20-and-a-half-year prison sentence after assaulting two women in separate attacks. The relentless predator must serve at least 16-and-a-half years before parole.

Shocking Attacks in Lambeth and Paddington

On November 11, 2019, Tarik followed a woman in her 40s near St Thomas’ Hospital, punching and raping her on Royal Street. The victim bravely sought help at the hospital, sparking a Met Police investigation.

Despite forensic efforts and CCTV checks, Tarik initially escaped identification. But that changed after a second assault on October 30, 2021.

Near Paddington’s Hallfield Estate, he dragged another woman down an alley and attacked her. A member of the public stepped in and alerted police, leading to his arrest. The victim suffered minor injuries.

DNA Evidence Seals His Fate

Once in custody, a DNA sample linked Tarik to the 2019 Lambeth rape. Overwhelming evidence led the Crown Prosecution Service to charge him, and he pleaded guilty to three counts of rape, two of actual bodily harm, and one robbery.

“Tarik is clearly a dangerous offender who posed a significant risk to women. I’m relieved he’s behind bars for a long time,” said Detective Inspector Ian Kenward.

He also praised the victims for their courage and highlighted the Met’s commitment to tackling violence against women in London.
