Armed Police Descend on E10 After Shooting
Armed officers and emergency services rushed to St George’s Road, E10, this evening following reports of a shooting. The Metropolitan Police, backed by specialist SO15 units, arrived shortly after 6pm.
Bullet Found at Scene
A bullet was recovered near the scene, prompting a huge police cordon. Forensics are on the case collecting vital evidence. Witnesses say the suspect fled before police arrived, reportedly carrying a long gun.
Manhunt Launched for Gunman
The hunt is now on to track down the armed suspect. Officers from local and specialist units are chasing every lead to bring the culprit to justice. Two arrests have been made so far, though the investigation continues.
Victim Taken to Hospital
The Met confirmed a man in his mid-20s suffered a gunshot wound and was rushed to hospital by ambulance. Thankfully, his injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.
A Met Police spokesman said: “Police were called at about 6.10pm on Wednesday, 27 November to reports of gunshots heard on St George’s Road, E10. Officers found a man with a gunshot injury. A crime scene is in place, and enquiries continue.”
