Drink-Driver Busted with More Than Double Legal Limit on Christmas Eve

Kirsty Sleeman, 48, from Eugene Cottages, Ashford, has been slammed with a hefty driving ban and fine after failing a breathalyser test just before Christmas.

Blown Away by the Breathalyser

  • Stopped in Ashford on 24 December 2021
  • Blew 85 microgrammes of alcohol per 100ml of breath
  • Legal limit stands at just 35 microgrammes

Judge Hands Down Tough Penalties

At Folkestone Magistrates’ Court on 26 January 2022, Sleeman pleaded guilty to driving over the alcohol limit. She was disqualified from driving for 22 months and slapped with a £415 fine.

On top of that, she must pay a £42 surcharge and £85 in costs. A costly festive faux pas for the Ashford woman.
