Teen Stabbed in Crawley as 18-Year-Old Faces Attempted Murder Charges
An 18-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder and is now in custody following a stabbing in Crawley over the weekend.
Emergency Services Rush to Scene
At around 11:20 PM on Sunday, emergency crews responded to reports of a stabbing at Burdock Close. A 15-year-old boy was found severely injured and rushed to hospital, where he remains in a serious condition.
Suspect Arrested; Court Date Set
Police arrested Carling Poynter, from Broadfield, Crawley, early Monday morning on suspicion of attempted murder. He is due to appear at 123 Crown Court on June 5.
Others Arrested and Released on Bail
A 17-year-old boy and a 35-year-old woman were also arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender. Both have since been released on bail as investigations continue.
Police Appeal for Information
“Our thoughts remain with the young victim and his family after the devastating events of Sunday night,” said Superintendent Imran Asghar. “The suspect is remanded in custody, but we urge anyone with information or relevant footage to contact police online or call 101, quoting Operation Langstone.”
