Woman Stabbed in Lewisham – Police Hunt Dangerous Suspect
Detectives in Lewisham are on the case after a woman was stabbed in broad daylight on Lewisham Way. The attack happened around 9am on Friday, May 24.
Victim Stable but Suspect Still on the Loose
Police rushed to the scene with support from the London Ambulance Service. The victim, a woman in her 30s, suffered stab wounds but is now in stable condition. Thankfully, her injuries are not life-threatening.
Search Underway for Suspected Attacker Mateo Valencia Cano
Detective Sergeant Ian Barnard from the South East Safeguarding team confirmed the investigation is making headway. Police are urgently seeking Mateo Valencia Cano, 24, who lives in South Norwood (SE25). Born on February 3, 2000, Cano is considered dangerous. Authorities warn the public not to approach him if spotted.
“If you see Mateo Valencia Cano, call 999 immediately,” said the police. If you have any information about his whereabouts, dial 101 and quote CAD1891/24MAY24.
One Arrest Made, But Suspect Released on Bail
One person linked to the case has already been arrested but has been released on bail while inquiries continue.
