Bank Holiday Burglar Busted and Jailed for Four Years
A brazen burglar who terrorised Thanet and Canterbury businesses over the May bank holiday weekend has been locked up for four years. Jordan Line, 25, smashed his way into cafes, bars, offices, and even private homes across Herne Bay, Manson, Ramsgate, Broadstairs, Westgate, Birchington, and Canterbury.
17 Burglaries in One Weekend – Caravan Park Hit Too
Over the weekend of 5th and 6th May 2019, Line targeted 17 locations, stealing charity boxes and rifling through cash boxes and safes. His cheeky attempts even extended to trying to nab cash boxes attached to washing machines in a caravan park laundry!
CCTV Cracks the Case – Swift Police Action Nets Line
Victims handed over CCTV footage showing the hooded criminal in action. kent-police/" title="Kent Police" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">Kent Police launched a rapid investigation. Within three days, Line from Margate Road, Ramsgate, was identified and arrested. Charged with conspiracy to burgle on 9th May, he copped to the crime.
Detective Praises Community and CCTV for Quick Justice
“This result is down to brilliant support from the businesses involved, and a lot of swift work from officers reviewing hours of CCTV and having the good local knowledge to identify an offender,” said Detective Sergeant Jay Robinson.
He added: “Work is still ongoing to find others involved. We always encourage businesses and homes not just to install CCTV but to learn how to properly use and download footage. In this case, the CCTV left nowhere for Line to hide – leading to his swift arrest and charge.”
