Two Men Charged Over West Belfast Murder
Aidan O’Keefe, 27, and Fergal Kane, 53, faced Belfast Magistrates’ Court this week. They stand accused in the shooting death of Kevin Conway, 26, in west Belfast.
Victim Shot Multiple Times at Home
Conway was gunned down at his home on January 9, suffering multiple gunshot wounds. He was already out on bail, charged with a previous gang-related murder in Lurgan, County Armagh, last year.
Court Orders Ban on Publishing Defendants’ Addresses
Due to safety concerns, the judge imposed an interim ban on revealing the defendants’ home addresses during the hearing. This move aims to protect the accused from potential threats.
Police Reveal Shotgun and Handgun Used in Shooting
A detective chief inspector from the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) confirmed both a shotgun and handgun were fired during the attack. He also linked O’Keefe and Kane to two vehicles believed driven by the gunmen.
O’Keefe and Kane remain in custody. Their next court date is set for February 20.
