19-Year-Old Gang Member Nabbed with Loaded Gun in Bedroom Raid
A 19-year-old gang member has been locked up for five years after police found a loaded handgun stashed in his bedroom. The chilling discovery happened last November at his home on Putney Road in Handsworth.
Major Crime Proactive Team Strike
Allain Miller, linked to a notorious Birmingham gang, was caught during a targeted search by the Major Crime Proactive Team. Officers uncovered the firearm hidden in carrier bags inside a bottom bedroom drawer. Along with the gun, they seized a red bandana – a known gang symbol.
Police Crack Down on Gang Violence
Det Sgt Marc Jerromes said: “We acted fast after receiving intel that Miller was hiding a weapon. Removing this gun stops it hitting the streets. Miller’s gang ties fuel crime in Birmingham, and this seizure hits their operations hard.”
Guilty Plea Ends Court Case
Miller pleaded guilty at Birmingham Crown Court to possession of a firearm and ammunition. He was sentenced to five years for the gun and an extra three months concurrently for the ammo charge. The crackdown sends a clear message to gang members bringing weapons into communities.
