Adnan Choudhary Pleads Guilty

Adnan Choudhary, 39, appeared at Blackburn Magistrates Court on February 19, 2024. He admitted to four counts of theft and being equipped to steal. His crimes spanned from December 2023 to February 2024.

Scissors and Speed: The Modus Operandi

Choudhary used scissors to cut chains securing charity boxes to business counters, grabbing donations before sprinting away when customers tried to stop him.

Community and Police Team Crack the Case

Thanks to a thorough police probe and community tips, evidence piled up leading to Choudhary’s arrest. Yesterday, he was sentenced to 18 weeks in prison.

The Blackburn Neighbourhood Policing Team thanked everyone who helped bring the thief to justice. This sentence sends a strong message: crime won’t be tolerated in our communities.
