Man Remanded Over Murder of Teenager Jodie Chesney

A 20-year-old man has been charged over the brutal stabbing death of 17-year-old Jodie Chesney in Harold Hill.

Tragic Stabbing in Harold Hill Park

Police rushed to a park near St Neot’s Road at 9:25pm on Friday, 1 March after ambulance services reported a stabbing. Officers found Jodie with a fatal stab wound. She was pronounced dead at 10:26pm the same night.

Suspect Arrested and Charged

Manuel Petrovic, from Highfield Road, Romford, was arrested in Leicester on Tuesday, 6 March. He’s been charged with murder and appeared at Barkingside Magistrates’ Court on Saturday, 9 March.

He was remanded in custody and is set to appear at the Old Bailey on Monday, 11 March.

Ongoing Investigation

Another man arrested in London on Friday, 8 March, remains in police custody on suspicion of murder. The Homicide and Major Crime Command (HMCC) is leading the investigation.
