Police Nab Suspects During Ashford Patrol
Two suspected drug dealers hit the brakes after cops swooped in Ashford. Officers on patrol in Stanhope Road spotted dodgy activity around 3.30pm on Monday, 15 February 2021.
A man tried to leg it but was tackled with help from a quick-thinking member of the public. Cops recovered mobile phones and a hefty sandwich bag stuffed with cannabis.
Drug Bust Yields More Than Two Kilos
The detained man, in his twenties and local to Ashford, was arrested for possessing drugs with intent to supply. He’s since been released under investigation.
A follow-up search at a Stanhope property uncovered a large ‘bag for life’ filled with over two kilos of cannabis, along with cash and deal bags. The investigation is still ongoing.
Woman in Her 50s Also Held
A woman, believed to be in her fifties, was arrested at the scene and later bailed. She’s due back for questioning on 5 March.
