Callous Hit-and-Run Driver Busted After Mowing Down Pedestrian in Woking

A man is fighting for his life this morning after being struck at a pedestrian crossing in Woking on Saturday night. The victim suffered a serious head injury after the hit-and-run driver ploughed into him on Victoria Way.

Horrific Hit-and-Run Leaves Man Seriously Injured

The shocking crash happened just after 11:40pm on 27th November. The callous Fiat driver smashed the victim into the windscreen before speeding off, trying to hide the car in a nearby alley.

Witnesses at the scene were horrified. One said, “He was tossed in the air like a football. We heard a loud bang and thought the car hit the railing. Then we saw the man lying in the road covered in blood. The driver just fled.”

Police Launch Serious Road Collision Investigation

Emergency crews rushed to the scene, treating the man for a serious head wound before rushing him to hospital. Police quickly arrested a man in his 30s, who remains in custody on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving, failing to stop, and failing to provide a sample.

Officers from the Serious Road Collision unit conducted skid tests and examined the seized vehicle early Sunday morning. They have taped off the crash site and appealed for witnesses to come forward.

Witnesses Urged to Help Crack Case

Residents close to the scene described seeing emergency lights and police activity. One local, Charlie Ashley, said, “I saw a man lying in the road from my flat window, then the flashing lights arrived.”
