Teen Charged After Police Officer Hammer Attack in Twickenham
An 18-year-old has been charged after a shocking attack on a police officer in Twickenham.
Hammer Attack Sparks Arrest
Flanagan, 18, from Bell Lane, Twickenham, was charged on Tuesday, 21 May, with causing grievous bodily harm with intent (GBH S.18), resisting arrest, possession of a bladed article and offensive weapon, and riding as a passenger on a stolen vehicle.
He was remanded to appear at a Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, 22 May.
Incident Unfolded Near Jubilee Avenue Underpass
Police were called at 3.30pm on Monday, 20 May to reports of two suspicious men on a moped near the underpass by Jubilee Avenue, TW2. Officers quickly detained two males at the scene.
A 16-year-old boy was also arrested but has since been released under investigation.
The injured officer is reported to be recovering after the hammer assault.
