Man Charged After Child Abduction Attempt in Sittingbourne

Harry Morris, 24, from Peregrine Drive, Sittingbourne, faces serious charges of child abduction and sexually assaulting a child under 13.

Disturbing Incident in Alleyway

The alleged attack took place at around 8.15am on Wednesday 8 December 2021. Morris reportedly approached a young girl in an alley off Rectory Road. After a brief exchange, he grabbed her momentarily before fleeing. Thankfully, the girl was left unharmed.

CCTV Leads to Arrest

The police released CCTV footage to help track down the suspect. Morris was arrested on Thursday 17 December and charged two days later on Saturday 18 December.

Legal Proceedings Underway

Morris is set to appear at Medway Magistrates’ Court on Monday 20 December. Meanwhile, a 36-year-old man previously arrested in connection with the case has been released on bail until 4 January 2022.
