A top-level cocaine supply ring known as the ‘Scarface’ network has been smashed after the arrest and conviction of 27-year-old Daniel Bruford from Tonbridge. He ran the ruthless operation right across west Kent, flooding streets with illegal drugs.
Weapons Arsenal Found in Dodgy Den
Police stormed Bruford’s Mount Pleasant Court home in Hildenborough on September 27, 2024. Officers uncovered a jaw-dropping cache of deadly weapons, including samurai swords, nunchucks, a spear, machetes, knuckle dusters, and an extendable baton. Alongside, they seized cocaine drugs transactions and more than £1,100 cash.
Year-Long Cocaine Conspiracy Exposed
Bruford masterminded the ‘Scarface’ network for nearly a year, using several phones to control the cocaine pipeline. Between October 2023 and September 2024, he sent over 32,000 calls and text messages advertising the drug. “Runners” handled postcode-based delivery to customers, all synced via message.
PC James O’Gorman, lead investigator, said: “The evidence against Bruford was damning. His phones revealed messages and voice notes about drug prices, quantities, and chilling threats of violence.”
He added: “The massive weapons haul showed just how far he would go to protect his criminal empire.”
Quick Justice Served
Bruford was arrested in the early hours of September 27 and pleaded guilty within 24 hours at Medway Magistrates’ Court. Charges included:
- Supplying cocaine (Oct 2023 – Sept 2024)
- Possession of criminal property (the seized cash)
- Possession of offensive weapons
He was sentenced on February 12, 2025, at maidstone/" title="Maidstone" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">Maidstone Crown Court to a hefty five years and six months behind bars. Plus, a financial probe under the Proceeds of Crime Act is underway to claw back his drug profits.
Police Pledge to Crush County Lines Crime
PC O’Gorman vowed: “Dealers like Bruford ruin communities with drugs and violence. But we’re relentlessly shutting them down. This case proves we’re making it tough for criminals to take root.”
Kent Police continue their campaign against county lines networks and organised crime, targeting those who fuel addiction and chaos across the region.
Community Breathes Sigh of Relief
Local residents in Tonbridge and nearby areas hailed the bust. One neighbour told us: “It’s a relief to have such a threat off our streets. The weapons they found alone were terrifying.”
