The post-mortem revealed a horrifying 35 stab wounds covering his body, chest, and neck, inflicted with brutal force by attacker Mantas Kvedaras, 25.
The Sinister Plot Uncovered
- Giedrius, a Lithuanian living in London, was still involved with his ex-wife Asta Juskauskiene, 35, despite their 2018 divorce.
- Kvedaras, Asta’s younger lover, had arrived in the UK only five days earlier after meeting her on social media—while serving time in Lithuania for sexually assaulting a teenager.
- Police quickly worked out the murder was a planned hit, orchestrated by Asta, who kept in touch with both men shortly before the attack.
- After the killing, Asta scrubbed evidence from her phone and tried to erase Kvedaras’s personal documents from her home.
Justice Served at Old Bailey
The deadly duo were arrested two days after the stabbing. Kvedaras admitted guilt at the Old Bailey in October 2023. Asta was convicted of murder and perverting justice in January 2024.
Asta received a 24-year sentence, with an additional two years for court interference, to run concurrently. Kvedaras was handed 22 years behind bars.
Family Left Devastated
“I cannot find the words… to explain the heart-breaking and devastating concoction of feelings that hit me when I realised I’d never see my son again,” said Giedrius’s mother.
His sister added: “The loss has created a colossal, irreparable hole in all our lives.”
Detective Chief Inspector Laurence Smith called the attack “calculated” and “merciless,” expressing sympathy for Giedrius’s terrified final moments.
“While nothing can ease the family’s pain, justice has been served,” he said, “and these two are paying for their wicked crimes.”
