Cyclist Suffers Serious Head Injury in Shocking Southwick Crash

A cyclist was left with serious head injuries after a nasty collision on Southwick’s B2177 on Saturday morning.

The smash happened at around 8.45am on May 7, between James Callaghan Drive and Pitymoor Lane, as two cyclists riding together crashed on the northbound carriageway.

61-Year-Old Rider Rushed to Hospital

One man, aged 61, sustained serious head injuries and was rushed to southampton/" title="Southampton" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">Southampton General Hospital for treatment. The road was shut for nearly three hours while police scoured the scene.

Police Launch Appeal for Witnesses

Officers are desperate for anyone who saw the collision to come forward. Witnesses can contact the Roads Policing unit at Havant on 101, quoting Operation Enter. Alternatively, anonymous tips can be passed to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
