Burglar Busted After String of Swipes in Swanley and Orpington
Series of Burglaries Hit Court Crescent and Jessamine Terrace
Between 15 and 21 October 2022, thieves hit multiple homes in Swanley’s Court Crescent and Jessamine Terrace. Stolen goods included cash, car keys, laptops, and even vehicles. Two attempted burglaries were also reported on Court Crescent.
Goldsel Road Targeted; Jewellery and Gadgets Stolen
On 21 October, burglars struck a property on Goldsel Road, making off with two laptops, a digital tablet, jewellery, a handbag, wallet, and cards.
Shoplifting and Vehicle Thefts Linked to Spate of Break-Ins
Earlier, on 17 September, meat was pinched in a shoplifting spree at a local Co-operative supermarket. The same day, car keys and a vehicle were stolen from a home on Zelah Road.
Suspect John Shock Nabbed on Multiple Charges
Police connected these offences to an attempted burglary in Brow Crescent, Orpington on 15 October. On 29 October, John Shock, 32, with no fixed address, was charged with six burglaries, three attempted burglaries, three vehicle thefts, and the meat theft.
He also faces two counts of driving without a licence. Shock appeared at Medway Magistrates’ Court and was remanded in custody. His next court date is 29 November at Maidstone Crown Court.
