Tragic Discovery: Dutch Man Found Dead in Thames Near Hammersmith Bridge
Mohamed Mussa, a Dutch national living in Wandsworth, vanished on Sunday, 17 October. Just two days later, his body was recovered from the River Thames near Hammersmith Bridge at 8am on Tuesday, 19 October.
Last Seen Near Putney Bridge in Early Hours
Detective Chief Inspector Jim Shirley from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command revealed the last confirmed sighting of Mohamed. “He was seen walking past Simmons Bar on Putney High Street towards Putney Bridge at 5:29am on Sunday,” Shirley said.
“We know he didn’t turn left down Lower Richmond Road or cross towards the church and cinema. After that, his movements are unclear.”
Police Appeal for Witnesses and Dashcam Footage
The investigation is ongoing, with officers urging the public to come forward. DCI Shirley asked, “Were you on or near Putney Bridge around 05:30 that morning? Or driving along Putney High Street?”
“Please check any dashcam footage—you might hold the vital clue we need. Contact us as soon as possible.”
