Teens Nabbed After Midnight Mobile Phone Snatch Attempt in Radford
Police caught two youths in the act of trying to steal phones in Radford’s Midland Way at around 10.15pm on Friday, March 11, 2022.
High-Speed Chase Ends with Struggle and Arrests
Officers quickly arrived on the scene and spotted the pair riding bikes. The suspects tried to flee, but one rider crashed and fled on foot. A determined officer grabbed his jacket but was kicked in the leg, causing her to fall. Despite the struggle, she held firm until backup arrived. The officer suffered minor knee injuries during the scuffle.
The second suspect was arrested after a foot chase. Police found a knife on him after a search.
Two 15-Year-Olds Facing Serious Charges
- One boy charged with attempted robbery and possession of a knife in public
- The other charged with attempted robbery, assault with intent to resist arrest, and being equipped for burglary
