Dover Man Busted for Driving High Over Legal Cannabis Limit
Patrick Bledy Caught Red-Handed Behind the Wheel
Patrick Bledy, 28, from Salisbury Road, Dover, was slapped with a hefty driving ban after getting caught driving over the legal drug-drive limit. The incident happened on 25 August 2021, and he pleaded guilty at Folkestone Magistrates’ Court on 9 February 2022.
Blowing Twice the Legal Limit on Cannabis
When stopped by police, Bledy’s blood tested positive for 3.2 microgrammes of delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) per litre — way over the UK’s legal limit of 2 microgrammes. On top of the THC offence, he was also found driving without insurance.
Heavy Penalties: Driving Ban and Fine
- Bledy was disqualified from driving for 22 months
- He was fined £120
- Ordered to pay a £34 court surcharge
This serves as a stark reminder that driving under the influence of drugs is taken seriously and punished accordingly in the UK.
