Man Seriously Hurt After High-Speed Police Chase Crash in Sevenoaks
A man is in a serious condition after a nasty crash following a police pursuit in Riverhead, near Sevenoaks, Kent. The smash involved a silver Ford Fiesta and a black Land Rover Defender on Westerham Road, close to Larkfield Road, at around 8:30pm on Saturday, 19 April.
Ford Fiesta Driver Rushed to London Hospital
The Fiesta’s driver, a man in his 20s, suffered serious injuries and was rushed by ambulance to a London hospital, where he remains under medical care. Kent Police confirmed the Fiesta was being chased by officers just before the collision.
Due to the serious nature of the injuries linked to police contact, Kent Police made a mandatory referral to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC). This is standard procedure whenever serious injury follows a police-involved incident.
Road Shut as Forensics Probe Crash Scene
Westerham Road was closed both ways for several hours as forensic teams examined the scene. The crash has sparked a major investigation to get to the bottom of what happened.
