Dewsbury Man Busted with 700 Cannabis Plants, Sentenced to 12 Months
Kristean Delia, 24, from Bradford Road, Dewsbury, has been jailed for a year after police found nearly 700 cannabis plants at his home. The drug factory bust took place following a raid by Batley and Spen Neighbourhood Policing Team on 21 May 2025.
Massive Operation Shut Down in Dewsbury
Officers swooped after receiving tips about suspicious activity at Delia’s property. Inside, they discovered the vast cannabis farm, leading to his arrest on the spot. The case was wrapped up quickly, with Delia sentenced at Leeds Crown Court on 4 September 2025.
Crackdown Continues Across West Yorkshire
This isn’t an isolated incident. Just last month, four men were locked up for running a similar setup at a former commercial site on Quarry Road, Gomersal, where police seized over £3 million worth of cannabis in 2024.
“Our team located the large-scale drugs factory on Bradford Road following an investigation into various pieces of community intelligence about suspicious activity there,” said Inspector Charlotte Nicholls of Batley and Spen NPT.
“Every drugs factory closure takes money from the pockets of those who cause drugs-related violent and County Lines crime none of us want to see on estates and neighbourhoods.”
She added a big thank you to local residents for their help and urged them to keep reporting any suspicious activity.
