Teen Daredevil Nabbed After High-Speed Police Chase on Stolen Triumph
A Triumph motorcycle was snatched after the thief swiped the keys from inside a Dartford home on Monday, June 6, 2022.
Police Chase Turns Hair-Raising in Gravesend
Later that day, a police officer on patrol spotted the stolen bike in Medhurst Gardens, Gravesend, and tried to stop it. The rider slammed the accelerator and sped off recklessly, ignoring all orders to stop.
A police helicopter was scrambled to track the rogue biker. The chopper crew spotted him ditch the bike and sprint away on foot.
16-Year-Old Caught and Charged with Multiple Offences
Police patrols quickly surrounded the area and arrested a 16-year-old boy from Dartford nearby.
He now faces a string of charges including aggravated vehicle taking, driving without insurance or licence, burglary, and taking a moped without consent. These also relate to another incident on June 4 in Dartford.
Guilty Plea and Custody Ahead of Sentencing
Appearing at Medway Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, June 7, the youth pled guilty to all counts. He was remanded in custody and awaits sentencing.
