Drug Dealer Nabbed with Cocaine, Weapons and Fake IDs in Tunbridge Wells
Sadri Gega’s big drug run has come to a crashing halt. The 54-year-old was caught red-handed by police in Tunbridge Wells driving a suspicious Kia Rio loaded with cocaine, weapons, and fake ID documents. Now, he’s behind bars for four years.
Police Stop Unmasked Dealer
On 7 January 2020, Tunbridge Wells Community Policing Team spotted Gega acting dodgy in London Road. Pulling him over, officers found Gega trying to pass off a fake driving licence and Italian ID card with a false name. Hidden in the car was an extendable baton — and a car search uncovered 26 deal bags of cocaine.
More Drugs, Cash & Blades Found at Home
Police then raided a nearby address linked to Gega, discovering a suitcase packed with another 30 bags of cocaine, nearly £2,000 in cash, and a lock knife with a blade just shy of four inches. His real identity was exposed after they found an Albanian residency card and passport.
Gega Jailed for Drug Supply and More
Without a fixed address, Gega faced multiple charges at Maidstone Crown Court: possessing cocaine with intent to supply, possessing an offensive weapon in public, possessing criminal property, and having false identity documents. He pleaded guilty and was sentenced on 20 July to four years behind bars.
Police Praise Community and Vow to Continue Crackdown
“The sentencing of Gega shows how effective our officers are at rooting out drug dealers in our communities,” said PC Chris Clancy. “There’s still plenty of hard work ahead, but we’re determined to dismantle organised crime gangs that devastate lives. Public support is key—if you see anything suspicious, call 101 or 999 in an emergency.”
