In an exclusive revelation, UKNIP has learned that Shaye Groves, a 27-year-old sadistic killer from Havant, is set to be featured in an upcoming episode of Sky True Crime’s “Killer In My Village” documentary series. Produced by Avalon UK, the documentary is scheduled to air at 9 pm on November 14th as part of Series 7. It will delve into the lead-up, investigation, and chilling murder orchestrated by Groves.

The sinister events unfolded when Shaye Groves, previously residing on Botley Drive, Havant, was convicted of the heinous murder of Frankie Fitzgerald. This horrifying crime was committed with a dagger discovered in Groves’ sink. The conviction followed a five-week trial at Winchester Crown Court in February of this year.

The shocking incident came to light when officers were summoned to Groves’ residence on Botley Drive, Havant, during the early hours of Sunday, July 17. This call was prompted by an ex-pal of Groves, who received a video call displaying the lifeless body of Frankie Fitzgerald in Groves’ bedroom. The victim, 25-year-old Frankie Fitzgerald, was discovered deceased inside the property, and a post-mortem examination revealed that he had succumbed to multiple stab wounds.

Throughout the trial, Groves remained emotionless, even burying her head in a Murder Trial Crime Novel by Peter James titled “Find Them Dead.”

As a result of her horrific actions, Groves received a life sentence with a minimum term of 23 years on February 22 of this year.

Detective Chief Inspector (DCI) Kenny expressed, “Shaye Groves was responsible for the shocking and sustained attack which tragically resulted in Frankie’s death. We are pleased with the jury’s verdict and the sentence will ensure Groves spends a significant period of time in prison for what she has done.

DCI Kenny further extended his condolences to Frankie Fitzgerald’s family, friends, and loved ones, emphasizing that no sentence can alleviate their loss. He praised their courage and assured them that justice would be served.

He also underscored the commitment of Hampshire and the Isle of Wight Constabulary to combat domestic abuse in all its forms and encouraged victims to come forward.

Following the guilty verdict, the Fitzgerald family issued a heartfelt statement: “As a parent, you never expect to outlive your children. You will do anything in your power to protect them. Frankie was our baby, the youngest of five children he can never be replaced. He was a kind and beautiful person and sadly leaves two children behind that will never get to know their daddy. We thank the jury for their verdict today. To our Frankie, we love and miss you more than anything in this world. Your shining light will always be in our hearts.”

Detective Chief Inspector Nicola Burton, Senior Investigating Officer in the case, also remarked, “This was a shocking and sustained attack which tragically resulted in Frankie’s death. We are pleased with today’s sentence and that Groves will now spend a considerable length of time in prison for what she has done.

DCI Burton echoed the sentiments of support for Frankie’s family and emphasized the commitment to investigating and bringing to justice those responsible for such horrific crimes.

She encouraged victims of domestic abuse to come forward, assuring them that their courage would be met with the support and resources needed to seek justice.
