A heart-wrenching murder investigation is underway after a five-year-old boy was found dead with a fatal stab wound to the chest in Faringdon, Oxfordshire.

Woman Arrested and Released on Bail

A 40-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of murder but has since been released on bail until 12 April as police continue their inquiries.

Police Boost Patrols While Investigation Continues

Detective Chief Inspector Ailsa Kent of Thames Valley Police’s major crime unit confirmed the investigation is ongoing. “At this time, no formal identification has taken place, so I am not able to name the child,” she said.

“You will appreciate this is a difficult time for his family and we continue to work with them and offer support as the investigation continues.”

Police have also stepped up patrols in the Faringdon area to reassure local residents.
