Dad Charged After Son, 14, Dies in M6 Horror Crash

The father of a 14-year-old boy who died in a tragic M6 crash over Easter has been charged in connection with the fatal accident, police confirmed today.

Emergency crews rushed to the southbound M6 just after 12:15pm on Sunday 20th April following reports of a serious crash between junctions 34 and 33 near University Hill. A Peugeot van had veered off the road and smashed into a tree – no other vehicles were involved.

The passenger, Ryan Liam Morgan from Morecambe, suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. Ryan’s dad, 31-year-old Daniel Burba, who was driving the van, was seriously hurt and taken to hospital but has since been discharged.

Dad Faces Serious Charges

Lancashire Police revealed Daniel Burba from Arnside Crescent, Morecambe, has since been charged with causing death by dangerous driving, and causing death while driving unlicensed and uninsured. He remains in custody and is set to appear at Lancaster Magistrates’ Court at 10am on Monday 28th April.

“Our thoughts remain with Ryan’s loved ones at this incredibly difficult time. They are being supported by specially trained officers,” said a Lancashire Police spokesperson.
