Firefighters rush to suspected chemical spill

Kent Fire and Rescue Service scrambled five fire engines to Quarry Wood Industrial Estate in Aylesford after reports of a possible chemical incident. The crew brought in specialised Detection, Identification and Monitoring (DIM) officers and an incident support unit to assess the threat.

Emergency teams join forces at the scene

Two fire engines and DIM officers remain on site, working closely with Kent Police and South East Coast Ambulance Service (SECAmb) teams. This includes the Hazardous Area Response Team (HART), ambulance crews, a Critical Care Paramedic, and a Paramedic Practitioner.

Fifteen patients treated for minor symptoms

Fifteen people are being checked at the scene. Luckily, all suffer only minor symptoms as emergency services continue to monitor the situation.
