Organised Gang Jailed Over Horrific Acid Kidnap of Man Outside Pregnant Girlfriend’s Home
A ruthless criminal gang who dragged a man from his pregnant girlfriend, savagely beat him, and poured acid over him have been slammed with prison sentences totalling over 50 years.
Brutal Attack in London’s W2
The terrifying ordeal unfolded just after 9pm on 24 September 2018. The victim and his pregnant partner had just returned from dinner to the car park of her Woodchester Square home when a masked gang sprung into action.
- The men tried to yank the woman into a van but she escaped.
- The victim was dragged inside, brutally punched and kicked.
- He was then stuffed into a car’s footwell and battered further.
- At 1:15am, the gang took him to a Fulham address, tied him in a bath for 12 hours.
- They poured corrosive acid on him, causing painful burns, while continuing the assault.
Ransom Demands and Rolex Theft
The kidnappers called the victim’s mother on an unregistered phone demanding cash. Terrified, she paid thousands — around £6,000 — but the gang weren’t done.
They demanded her son’s Rolex watch. Following instructions, the watch was left on a car tyre as bait. CCTV captured gang member Jamal Gordon-Harris snatching the watch before driving off.
The victim was abandoned by the roadside but rescued by a passerby and rushed to hospital.
Crackdown and Sentencing
- Aston Rochester, 36, was jailed for 11 years and 3 months.
- Denzil Rochester, 31, received 9 years and 9 months.
- Jamal Gordon-Harris, 23, got 10 years and 3 months.
- Fennell Rutty, 27, was handed 9 years and 9 months.
- Bradley Evans, 40, received 10 years and 3 months.
All were convicted of conspiracy to kidnap after denying charges at a six-week trial in Harrow Crown Court.
The Met’s Modern Slavery and Kidnap Unit revealed the vehicles used were stolen and had false plates. Both were later found burnt out in north-west London.
“This organised group kidnapped an innocent man, dragged him from the side of his pregnant girlfriend and subjected him to hours of horrific physical and mental abuse,” said Acting Detective Chief Inspector Dan Mitchell.
“Despite the victim’s fear and silence, our team gathered enough evidence to bring these violent criminals to justice.”
The Met warns that even without victim statements, they will relentlessly pursue offenders using every tool available.
