Blaze Breaks Out on 25th Floor of The Shard
Firefighters from across London have rushed to tackle a fire at The Shard, one of the capital’s tallest landmarks. The London Fire Brigade was called just before 4pm on Bank Holiday Monday after reports of smoke on the 25th floor of the 95-storey skyscraper on London Bridge Street.
Residents Hear Alarm, Fire Crews Respond Swiftly
Local residents in nearby buildings say they heard the fire alarm blaring before six fire engines and an aerial ladder arrived at the scene. The emergency services are currently battling the blaze.
