Another daft TikTok stunt goes wrong
Firefighters from Hightown station rushed to Turnpike Way, Hedge End, Southampton after a teenager got stuck in a child’s swing while filming a TikTok video. This silly stunt is becoming far too common, causing chaos for emergency services and ruining play equipment.
Play areas left out of action
When firefighters cut trapped teens free, they often have to dismantle the swing altogether. This means the playground gear stays out of use until replaced, leaving kids with fewer safe places to play.
Firefighters hit out at reckless behaviour
“We don’t normally judge anyone at the calls we go to. However, getting stuck in a child’s swing whilst filming a TikTok is just plain stupid,” said a Hightown firefighter.
“This idiotic behaviour has tied up a truck for nearly an hour, preventing it from attending other calls. Not smart.”
These daft social media trends are wasting valuable time and resources that could be used saving lives elsewhere.
