Five jailed for brutal Walthamstow murder of 17-year-old Bubacar Jabbie Dukureh
Old Bailey hands down heavy sentences
Four gang members were locked up in June 2022 after a high-profile trial at the Old Bailey. Alfie Ferguson, 20, from Fairview Close, E17, received a whopping 22-year sentence.
Kaiyan Decordova, 20, of Ascham End, E17, was sentenced to 20 years. Meanwhile, 19-year-olds Samuel Bartley of Sutherland Road and Jamal Benitez of Papermill Place were given 19 and 17 years respectively.
Fifth gang member still in the spotlight
Also involved is 18-year-old George Makai from Greenleaf Road, E17. Friends and the local community remain shocked and devastated by the tragic events.
The deadly ‘ride-out’ to rival 123 estate
The gang drove to a rival 123 estate in Walthamstow in the evening. CCTV footage showed them arriving around 8:45pm and returning by 9:10pm. They were later recorded hiding near the estate.
Emergency services rushed to the scene but 17-year-old Bubacar Jabbie Dukureh died instantly. The murder has sent shockwaves through the community.
