Leicester Cannabis Gang Busted: Seven Sentenced to Prison

Two Leicester men were found guilty of running a cannabis production ring and have been slammed with hefty prison terms. Ossama Omar, 38, from Staveley Road, bagged seven years behind bars. Mohamed Latif, 46, of Kitchener Road, was locked up for five and a half years after their trial at Leicester Crown Court on 18 April.

More Jail Sentences for Drug Operation

The crackdown didn’t stop there. Several others linked to the same operation were also sentenced:

  • Besmir Kortoci, 30, of Courtyard Close, Syston, got a massive nine years and nine months for cannabis production and five Identity Document Act offences.
  • Wesley Moden, 41, Park Road, Leicester, jailed for five years.
  • Gazmend Kortoci, 26, Sheldon Street, Leicester, sentenced to six years and nine months.

Earlier Guilty Pleas Result in More Prison Time

Back in September 2021, a group pleaded guilty to the same drug production offence and got slammed with sentences:

  • Alban Elezi, 29, no fixed address – five years.
  • Bekim Ahmataj, 30, Shelford Walk, Leicester – five years, seven months.
  • Gramoz Imeraj, 32, no fixed address – four years, six months.
  • Eneo Kortoci, 22, no fixed address – five years, one month.
  • Xhevahir Mici, 48, no fixed address – three years.

More Jail Sentences in Late 2021

November 2021 saw even more of the gang sentenced after guilty pleas:

  • Kevin Sinani, 33, no fixed address – three years, four months, two weeks.
  • Benet Kataroshi, 23, no fixed address – five years, two months.
  • Bekim Kataroshi, 27, no fixed address – four years, five months, three weeks.
  • Jetnor Sinani, 21, no fixed address – four years, eight months.

Leicester Crown Court has clearly cracked down hard on this cannabis network, handing out tough sentences across the board.
