Oxfordshire Man Jailed for Child Rape and Indecent Images
Ian Bailey Sentenced to 25 Years
Ian Bailey, 56, from Oxfordshire, has been handed a brutal 25-year prison sentence for multiple child sex offences. The convicted abuser received 19 years in prison plus six years on licence after a unanimous jury found him guilty of four counts of child rape.
Multiple Offences Across Oxfordshire
Bailey admitted to engaging in sexual activity with a child under the age of one, along with taking indecent photographs—a horrific act alongside his other sexual assaults. The offences took place across various locations in Oxfordshire over several years.
Investigation and Impact
Bailey was arrested on 21 July last year and charged a few weeks later on 10 August. Detective Constable Phil Rowles of the Child Abuse Investigation Unit praised the victim’s incredible bravery.
“Bailey’s horrendous acts took place over a number of years and had a devastating impact on the victim. The victim and her family have shown remarkable courage and resolve,” said DC Rowles.
“I hope this sentence helps bring them closure. Anyone suffering abuse must come forward—no matter how much time has passed, we are committed to bringing offenders to justice.”
