Ex-ambulance tech locked up for 25 years over sick child sex crimes
David Andrews’ horrific offences exposed
David Andrews, 36, a former ambulance technician with no fixed address, has been jailed for 25 years at Worcester Crown Court today (April 16). The East Midlands Ambulance Service worker admitted multiple child sex offences – including attempted rape and possession of thousands of indecent images.
He must serve a minimum of 12 years before parole is considered and will remain on the Sex Offenders Register for life.
Shocking scale of abuse revealed
Andrews pled guilty on February 27 to:
- Attempted rape of a child under 13
- Two counts of sexual assault of a child under 13 by penetration
- Two counts of sexual assault of a child under 13
- Three counts of taking indecent photos or pseudo-photos of a child
- Three counts of making indecent photos or pseudo-photos of a child
Police uncovered more than 7,000 vile images on his phone, including:
- 765 Category A images – the most severe
- 829 Category B images
- 5,388 Category C images
One Category C image was taken while Andrews was on duty as an ambulance technician in Northamptonshire, where he served from July 2015 until December 2024.
Swift police action brings predator to justice
West Mercia Police arrested Andrews in December 2024 after a child sexual assault allegation emerged. An intense investigation uncovered disturbing video footage in addition to the extensive image cache.
“These crimes are deeply disturbing,” said a West Mercia Police spokesperson. “We commend our investigation team for their swift action to ensure Andrews faced justice.”
