Tragic Croydon stabbing: 17-year-old Denardo dies, multiple arrests made

Teen dies in Croydon stabbing horror

Police were called to Prentis Road, SW16, at around 4:15pm on Thursday, 10 June following reports of a stabbing. Emergency crews found 17-year-old Denardo Samuels-Brooks with serious stab wounds.

Despite rushed efforts to save him, Denardo was pronounced dead at 4:51pm. Formal identification is complete and next of kin have been informed. A post-mortem is scheduled for Saturday, 12 June at Greenwich Mortuary.

Six suspects arrested, court dates set

  • A 17-year-old male from Croydon to appear at Bromley Magistrates’ Court on Saturday, 12 June.
  • Umar Salami, 18, Addiscombe Grove, Croydon, to appear at Highbury Corner Magistrates’ Court on the same day.
  • Denzel Kwatng, 18, Parkway, New Addington, and Andre Headley, 18, Prentis Road, SW16, both due at Wimbledon Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 14 June.
  • Two 16-year-old females have been bailed until late June, pending enquiries.
  • Four others – aged 15 to 18 – released under investigation amid ongoing inquiries.
  • A 17-year-old male arrested on 11 June on suspicion of violent disorder and possession of an offensive weapon remains in custody.
