£3 Million Cocaine Haul Busted at Heathrow
A ruthless gang tried to smuggle nearly £3 million worth of cocaine into the UK, hiding the class A drug in their luggage on flights from Ghana.
Heathrow Intercept: Six Kilos Found in Suitcase
Julius Tetteh Puplampu was caught red-handed by National Crime Agency (NCA) officers at Heathrow Airport after flying in from Accra on 19 August 2021.
A secret compartment at the base of his suitcase contained six kilos of pure cocaine.
Links to More Smuggling Attempts Uncovered
Puplampu maintained close contact with Eric Appaih, who attempted to bring in 15 kilos of cocaine cleverly hidden inside food boxes.
The duo was also connected with Albert Gyamfi and Jennifer Agyemang, who were nabbed earlier in 2021 at Heathrow with another 15 kilos concealed in Agyemang’s suitcase — using the same sneaky hiding method as Puplampu.
Home Office Strikes Back
Immigration Enforcement International backed the probe by supplying vital evidence. They exposed links between the gang members and their smuggling techniques, leading to visa cancellations aimed at crippling their operations.
This sharp investigation has smashed the international cocaine ring and landed the criminals hefty jail sentences, keeping UK streets safer.
