Four Sentenced Over Brutal New Year’s Day Knife Attack in London
Four men have been handed over 100 years behind bars collectively for a savage New Year’s Day stabbing in Southwark, central London. The victim, an 18-year-old man, survived a shocking 60 stab wounds and a desperate fight for his life.
Guilty of Attempted Murder After Fierce Trial
Kevaniel Perkins-Robinson, Tashan Bailey-Brown, Denzel Ealmeida, and Darren Soyemi were found guilty of attempted murder following a grueling four-week trial at the Old Bailey. Today, the court slammed down hefty prison sentences.
Investigation Team Praised for Tackling ‘Vicious’ Assault
Detective Sergeant Yikira Turner labelled the attack “vicious” and “pre-planned.” She praised the relentless work of law enforcement and the Crown Prosecution Service, along with vital help from brave local witnesses.
“We hope this sentencing brings some closure to the victim and his family, while sending a strong message that such violence will not be tolerated,” said Turner.
Sentences Handed Down—Justice Served
- Tashan Bailey-Brown received 24 years in prison.
- Denzel Ealmeida, Darren Soyemi, and Kevaniel Perkins-Robinson each got 31 years.
The quick arrests followed police intercepting a getaway car, capturing all but Perkins-Robinson on the scene. Officers uncovered blood-stained clothes discarded by Ealmeida, containing the victim’s blood. Perkins-Robinson was tracked down and arrested months later when evidence was linked back to him.
This brutal case makes it clear: violent offenders will face tough penalties, and London’s streets won’t be safe for knife crime.
