Fourth Suspect Nabbed in Fatal Ewell Pub Alley Stabbing
Police have arrested a fourth suspect in connection with the tragic stabbing of a man in his 20s in Ewell.
Shocking Attack Outside Wheatsheaf Pub
Just after 3.30pm on Tuesday, 9 December, emergency services were called to an alleyway near the Wheatsheaf pub on Kingston Road. A young man was found suffering stab wounds. Despite frantic CPR efforts from police, paramedics, pub staff, and bystanders, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
His family have been informed and are receiving support.
Suspects Held in Custody
- Two boys, both aged 15
- One teenager, 17 years old
- One adult male, 20 years old
All four suspects are held on suspicion of murder. The 20-year-old has been released on bail, while the three teenagers remain in custody as the investigation continues.
Police Plea for Witnesses and Footage
“Our thoughts remain with the family and friends of the young man who lost his life. At this stage, we do not believe anyone else is involved,” said Senior Investigating Officer DCI Kimball Edey of Surrey and Sussex Police. “We thank the Wheatsheaf pub staff and customers who tried to save him and appreciate the community’s patience.”
Police are asking anyone near Kingston Road, Ewell, especially around the Wheatsheaf and Queen Adelaide pubs or near the Ruxley Lane junction, between 3pm and 5pm on 9 December to come forward. They want any CCTV, dashcam, helmet cam, or mobile footage that could help crack the case.
