The drama unfolded at around 8:15pm on July 1. Police raced to the scene after a frantic call reported a stabbing near the busy High Street in Cranford. Officers found a 31-year-old man bleeding from a slash wound. While they tried to assist him, a large crowd swarmed the area, turning the scene tense and hostile.

Officer Injured but Saves the Day

The stabbed man was rushed to a central London hospital with injuries described as not life-threatening. In the chaos, an officer was struck by a hammer, sustaining minor injuries but thankfully did not need hospital treatment.

Rumours suggest the incident might be linked to an event at Cranford Community College, but no confirmation yet. The attack happened close to the Redwood Estate and not far from the Queen’s Head pub near Cranford Lane.
