Morrisons Ditches Plastic for Brown Paper Bags! The supermarket giant is bringing back traditional brown paper bags for loose fruit and veg. It’s a bold move to slash the use of 150 million tiny plastic bags each year.

Goodbye Plastic, Hello Paper

The eco-friendly paper bags are rolling out now and will be in every store by the end of summer. Made from 100% recyclable paper, these bags have a clever see-through strip so customers and staff can spot the contents at a glance.

One size fits all – shoppers can use them for any loose fruit, veg, or salad items at Morrisons.

Where to Find the Bags

Look out for bag dispensers tucked at the corners of every fruit and veg aisle. Drew Kirk, Morrisons’ Fruit and Veg Director, said:

“We’ve listened to customers’ concerns about plastic bags for fruit and vegetables and that is why we are bringing back paper bags. There’s more to do, but this step will prevent 150 million plastic bags from being used in our stores every year.”

It’s a small change with a huge impact for greener shopping at Morrisons!
