Two Teenagers Die, Three Hospitalised
Police confirmed that 18-year-old Connor Lapworth died at the scene while 15-year-old Corey Mavin, who suffered serious head injuries, passed away in hospital. Three others remain in hospital following the collision on the A192 Hartford Bank near Cramlington around 9:30pm.
Grieving Mother’s Heartbreaking Tribute
Corey’s mum, Lisa Mavin, shared her agony in a heartbreaking Facebook post. She said, “My world is shattered. I keep looking into his room expecting to see him there. I thought I heard him cough. His little brother asked if that was his voice.”
She added, “I have never known pain like this… The last time I heard from him was 1:55pm that day. I feel so guilty… I wish it was me but instead, I lay next to my boy while his heart took its last beat.”
