Gary Glitter Slammed with Massive £508,800 Compensation Bill
Disgraced ex-glam rock star Gary Glitter, born Paul Gadd, has been ordered by the High Court to pay a staggering £508,800 to one of the women he sexually abused. The victim suffered severe and prolonged psychiatric damage due to his crimes, which included sexual assault and rape.
Dark Past Behind the Hits
Glitter, famous for chart-toppers like “Rock and Roll (Part 2)” and “I’m the Leader of the Gang (I Am),” was convicted in 2015 of abusing a woman and two other young victims between 1975 and 1980. The abuse shattered the victim’s education, work life, and personal relationships, leaving long-lasting scars.
Judge Slams Abuse, Glitter Snubs Court
Mrs Justice Tipples handed down the hefty compensation, declaring, “There is no doubt that the claimant suffered serious abuse.” But Glitter himself was a no-show at the High Court hearing, ignoring the ruling entirely.
Back Behind Bars After License Breach
Although Glitter was freed early from HMP The Verne in Dorset last February, his freedom was short-lived. Police caught him breaching his licence by trying to access the dark web, landing him back in prison after a failed parole bid at HMP Risley.
The parole panel declared it unsafe to release him again, keeping one of Britain’s most notorious abusers locked up for now. His victim remains haunted by his crimes, finally seeing a measure of justice.
