Using witness tips and CCTV footage, police traced the violence back to 37-year-old Marcus Ned, who was known to one of the victims. Ned had launched a targeted assault aiming to cause serious harm.
Armed units raided an address linked to Ned, but he made a desperate escape. He scaled down a two-storey flat and led officers on a tense foot chase. Thinking he’d shaken them off, Ned hid in a garden – but police air support tracked him down, leading to his swift arrest.
