Cliff Drama: Coastguard and Police Hunt for Missing Man in Dover

Emergency teams are scrambling on the cliffs of Dover tonight after a man went missing in the St Margaret’s Bay area. The search has been ongoing since Saturday evening, August 20.

Heavy Response on the Ground and Sea

Police and Coastguard vehicles have been spotted lining Hotel Road as crews gear up for a large-scale operation. Rescue teams from Deal, Dover, and Folkestone Coastguard stations are on site, with an RNLI lifeboat from Walmer also dispatched to scour the waters.

High-Risk Search for Man in His 60s

The missing man, believed to be in his 60s, is considered high risk. The Maritime and Coastguard Agency confirmed the ongoing efforts:

“Coastguard rescue teams are working with kent-police/" title="Kent Police">Kent Police to search for a man who has been reported missing. The search is ongoing and is being led by Kent Police.

Kent Police have been contacted for comment but have yet to respond. The community remains on edge as the hunt continues well into the night.
