MasterChef Studios Land at Warwick Bar, Birmingham’s Regeneration Hub
Digbeth’s Revival Kicks Off Levelling Up Drive
Homes England has teamed up with Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight’s firm, Digbeth Loc Limited, to bring MasterChef studios to Warwick Bar in central Birmingham.
This marks a major boost for Digbeth’s regeneration, one of the agency’s flagship moves to deliver on the government’s Levelling Up agenda.
Revamping the Iconic Royal Docks
The partnership isn’t stopping there. Homes England is backing the transformation of a derelict 40-year-old site in London’s historic docklands — one of the largest brownfield sites around.
With support for The Silvertown Partnership, plans include 6,000 new homes, next-gen business spaces, fresh cultural venues, and a bustling new town centre.
They’re also funding vital infrastructure upgrades like a pedestrian and cycle bridge over Royal Victoria Dock, restoring the iconic Millennium Mills, and repairing dock walls that once held development back.
New £80m Fund Boosts SME Housebuilders Across the South East
Homes England and Newstead Capital Unite for Affordable Housing
Homes England has teamed up with Newstead Capital to launch an innovative development finance fund supporting small and medium-sized housebuilders (SMEs).
Backed by heavyweight institutional investors including Greater Manchester Pension Fund and clients of Mattioli Woods, the fund has secured a hefty £80 million at initial close.
This fresh approach aims to deliver thousands of affordable homes of all tenures across the south east through a new vehicle and the for-profit housing provider, Halesworth.
Driving Affordable Homes with Responsible Capital
Homes England’s investment signals a big push to attract institutional capital into affordable housing, tackling high unaffordability by boosting supply of quality homes.
The fund will also empower local SME builders to bring these schemes to life—matching one of the agency’s top priorities and helping communities thrive.
